Peter Walton Draft ewes Purchased Middleton-in-Teesdale 2014

Kingshaugh Swaledales are a small hill flock, which originate from purchases made over the last 20 years from breeders with notable flocks such as M. Metcalfe, Valley Farm, Redgate, Easegill Head and Quarry Farm.

When we secured the tenancy of Bail Hill, we took over fell stinted ewes plus followers on Harwood common.

We have been selective with our replacements, keeping only the very best out of good breeding ewes. Since moving to Bail Hill we have tried to enhance our breeding females with purchases from flocks including Long Green, Arnfield, Hill Fold, West Stonesdale, Punchard, Ettersgill House, Aygill and Newton Lodge. Our intention is to breed the best stock that breed the way they look.

We are passionate about breeding, showing and selling the very best quality of stock that we can produce. Over the years we have shown sheep on a regular basis with some success but in more recent years we have been more successful.

We support our two local sheep shows every year, High Force and Langdon Beck, which always prove to be enjoyable days. In 2010 we also started showing at The Great Yorkshire Show, we were lucky enough in 2011 to be awarded Female and Overall Swaledale Champion, which is something we are very proud of.
